The Story
Strong Enough is a character-driven family drama and proof-of-concept short film inspired by themes from C. Lynn Williams’ book, The Pampered Prince. The 15–18-minute film explores the hidden cost of being “the strong one” in a family.
Dawn Williams is intelligent, dependable, and driven, with dreams of attending college. But as her recently divorced mother struggles to balance work, family responsibilities, and her younger son’s challenges, Dawn becomes the person everyone depends on to keep things together.
When Dawn misses a life-changing scholarship interview because she is forced to put her family’s needs ahead of her own future, her mother is forced to confront a painful truth: the same generational patterns of enabling and unequal responsibility she witnessed in her own family are repeating in her home.
From the Page to the Screen
Strong Enough grew from C. Lynn Williams’ screenplay, The Pampered Prince, which explores family dynamics, parenting, and the unintended consequences of unequal responsibility within a family.
The short film brings those themes to the screen through Dawn’s story—giving audiences an opportunity to see the conversation unfold beyond the page.
